EVO2 Treadmill ranks at the top of the Runner's World Reviews
Once again Runner' World ranks EVO by Smooth Fitness at the top of its
Runner's World Says:
"Don't bother pushing any buttons to adjust your speed. Just wave your hand over the EVO 2's Motion Control sensor on the handrails to
go faster, slower or stop. The Swing Arm Shock absorption system disperses impact onto the deck rather than your joints, creating an ideal surface for older runners or those suffering back pain. Our maintenance expert gave the sturdy frame made of 12 gauge steel a thumbs-up, although some testers felt it was a bit bulky. The deck is a bit longer
(62 by 20) than the standard 60 by 20 inch belt giving taller runners the space they need.
Warranty: Lifetime frame, motor and parts / 1 year labor
Horsepower: 3.5
Belt size: 62 by 20 inches
Maximum speed/incline: 12.5 mph/15 percent
Programs include: 3 goal, 3 preset (Killer Hills, speed interval, weight loss), 5K Self-learning and Heart Rate Control
Heart rate interactive: yes"
"Thanks, Smooth, for finding a clever alternative."
One
thing we've always found tough about treadmills is fumbling for the speed button - especially when you're trying to slow down after a fast repeat. Thanks, Smooth,
for finding a clever alternative: To control the speed of the EVO, you simply
wave your hand over a light beam on the handrail.
Sounds crazy, but it works. In our tests, it was easy to bump the speed up or down with
one wave, or to go from a slow jog to race pace by hovering a hand over the light
beam for 5 seconds. Need to stop quickly? Just move your hands over both handrail
beams at the same time. Another plus: The EVO can display distance, time and pace (minutes per mile) simultaneously,
a must-have feature that's all-too rare on many treadmills.
